  • The Professional

The best choice when both screens need to be on eye level and you use an external keyboard. It resembles the traditional office setup for most professionals.

  • The Minimalist

This setup is perfect for travelling light while still maintaining high output. Relying on the modern keyboard and trackpad of high-end laptops is completely fine!

  • The Ergonomist

A good option for those who want to have the screens on eye level, but prefer to travel light. The classic laptop stand on the picture work well with the Tern Stand.

    All of your questions, answered.

    What's an IPS panel?

    IPS

    • Uses a backlight that shines through liquid crystals to produce images.
    • Excellent for consistent color and clarity from different angles.
    • Matte screen

Is the Vurge portable monitor compatible with my device?

Our portable monitors are compatible with ALL laptops and desktop computers. They also work with tablets (both iOS and Android devices). It's possible to connect the external display in two ways. You can either use the included HDMI cable or the USB-C cable.

How is the stand attached to the portable monitor?

The stand is attached to the portable monitor with a magnet. Thanks to the magnet's pull force of 18kg (40lbs), the magnet and the metal plate have a solid connection.

How does the monitor get power?

For modern professional laptops, the monitor gets its power from the same USB-C cable that also carries the video, so there is no need for an external power supply. A power adapter is included in case the monitor needs external power.

If you use an HDMI cable, you need to deliver the power to the monitor using a power brick and a USB-C cable. The box includes all cables and the power brick.

Can I use the portable monitor without external power?

Yes, most laptops provide enough power to use the portable monitor without external power. Also, the portable monitor works without having to charge the computer. This means you can use the portable monitor without having to plug the charger into the monitor or the laptop. Note that in this case, the portable monitor consumes the laptop's battery, and the monitor's maximum brightness is limited.

Even though most modern laptops provide enough power, not all can give enough juice to power the portable monitor. Our portable monitors need 15W of power. In this case, you need to plug in the laptop charger or the portable monitor's charger.

Why doesn't my USB-C cable work?

The portable monitor comes with 2 USB-C cables. The cable labelled "Power Cable" is only meant for powering the monitor; it cannot carry video. Please use the second USB-C cable for video.

Does the magnet interfere with the electronics inside the monitor?

No, the magnet does not interfere with the electronic components inside the monitor.

While the magnet is strong enough to hold the portable monitor, it does not generate a magnetic field nearly as strong enough to interfere with the monitor's internal electronics. The components inside the portable monitor are too small to be affected by the stand's small neodymium magnet.

Lastly, our portable monitor stand has undergone rigorous testing to meet all safety and performance standards. This includes testing for any potential electromagnetic interference with electronic devices. The results have shown that our magnet does not pose any risk to the functionality or longevity of your monitor.

What is covered with the warranty?

We are confident that our portable monitor will exceed your expectations and enhance your digital experience. To ensure your peace of mind and satisfaction, we offer a comprehensive warranty for the monitor.

    Coverage:
Neuvurge warrants the portable monitor to be free from defects in materials and quality for one (1) year from the date of purchase. During this period, we will repair or replace, at our discretion, any defective parts or the entire unit free of charge. Note that you, as the customer, may be liable for shipping costs.

    Exclusions:
This warranty does not cover misuse, accident, alteration, or normal wear and tear damages. Additionally, it does not cover damages caused by unauthorized repairs or modifications. The warranty is also void if the product is used in a manner that does not follow the user manual or if it is used with incompatible devices or accessories.

I use this with my laptop when I have to work on the go. Colors are slightly muted but I'm good with that since I'm usually working in documents.

I love to go to cafe-coworking places and I wanted it to have a second screen, I got used to have one at home. So I look for a monitor that was easy to carry and with good image quality, bought this one and it was a good decision.

This screen is DIM! I believe that is an issue with any budget mobile screen. I'm not returning it on count of my time is worth more than the monitor. The build is solid though. It survived my flight both ways in a carry on bag. They do supply a bunch of cables, so that is a plus towards the three stars. The built in 'stand' is a little bit frustrating to get in position. Easy to fall over.

YES, it does WORK. And, that is about it. I think as a travel screen for emails, PDFS's, it's OKAY. I would say, spend MORE and make sure you research. Next time, I'll follow my own advise. I needed this for a business trip and became a rush purchase. I don't think 1080P is good enough for a 15.6 screen these days. So, summary is, spend DOUBLE and get four times better the image/display. You barely get what you pay for in this case.

For context, I purchased this monitor as an extra monitor for when I am in the office at work for my sanity. I recently gotten a new job and the office only has one giant monitor, and as someone who has worked off of three screens for the past decade, it was making me twitch when I had to go into the office. Now that we're being forced in 3 days a week I bought this so I have my 3 screens at work - the big monitor, my portable one and then my laptop monitor. My home setup is two identical monitors + laptop monitor that I put together in April 2020 after the knowledge that 'two weeks' was going to be a lot longer. Previous to the pandemic I worked off of three screens as well.

I love the portability of it. With two cords it's plug and play whether direct wired or hooked up to a hub.

My (new) coworkers think I'm nuts, but I always have to have my calendar open or I experience time blindness and miss meetings or misc reminders I have on it. So I have the portable monitor as my calendar to keep me on task.

I can use it as well to display what I am doing to someone who is sitting opposite of me by making it a duplicate, which is a fun trick to do for clients or in a meeting if I bring it along.

I can also take it on travels, hook it up to video game systems (switch, xbox, etc), or even plug in a streaming service device onto it. They give you a bunch of cords with a bunch of ways to hook it up to anything.

It's a neat monitor that can serve multiple purposes, and continues to keep me on task for work.
